We view children as capable, curious learners and are guided by Reggio Emilia principles. Children’s voices, interests and ideas shape our play-based curriculum, with educators working alongside them to co-construct meaningful learning experiences.

At Lighthouse, every child has the right to be safe and feel safe. We are committed to protecting the wellbeing of all children in our care.

We do this by:

• providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment

• protecting children from harm and abuse

• encouraging children to speak up and be involved in decisions that affect them

• ensuring children know who to talk to if they feel unsafe

Child safety is everyone’s responsibility. We educate our community, respond appropriately to concerns, and continuously improve our child safe practices.

Sustainability is an important part of our everyday practice. Through recycling, energy efficiency, and water conservation, children are supported to develop respect for the natural environment and an appreciation of the interconnected relationships between people, plants, animals, and the land.

We value families as an integral part of our Lighthouse community and recognise them as our most important partners in each child’s learning journey.

Through open, respectful communication and meaningful collaboration, we work closely with families to support every child’s development, wellbeing and sense of belonging.

We encourage families to share their knowledge, culture and aspirations for their children, helping us create learning experiences that are responsive, inclusive and reflective of each child’s world. By building strong, trusting relationships with families, we create a supportive community where children feel secure, valued and confident to learn and grow.
